The All India Football Federation (AIFF) had initially set a July 20 deadline for clubs to pay the Rs 1.1 crore administrative fee in two instalments. However, the deadline was extended to Friday evening. Despite the extension, Jamshedpur FC failed to meet the payment requirements, leading to its withdrawal. Meanwhile, Inter Kashi FC, which had not paid before the original deadline, made the payment, leaving Jamshedpur FC as the sole club to opt out of the league. An AIFF official confirmed that the federation would decide on Saturday whether to proceed with the ISL season featuring 13 clubs. In a statement posted on X, Jamshedpur FC emphasized its commitment to supporting Indian football at the grassroots level. The club stated it would continue to identify and develop young talent across the country, creating pathways for players to progress to national and international levels. The AIFF and ISL clubs reached a significant agreement in July, allowing the clubs to manage the country’s top-tier competition for at least two years. Under the deal, the AIFF transferred commercial rights of the ISL to the clubs for four years, though clubs retain the option to exit the arrangement unilaterally after two years.
