Apple Introduces Device Leasing Program to Offset Rising Prices Apple has launched a new leasing program in partnership with Klarna, allowing customers to spread the cost of high-priced devices like iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and Macs over monthly payments. The initiative aims to make premium technology more accessible amid rising hardware costs and price hikes across Apple’s product lineup. Analysts suggest the move is a strategic response to supply chain challenges, such as memory-chip shortages, which have driven up manufacturing expenses. By offering lower monthly payments, Apple hopes to reduce the financial burden on consumers while maintaining the perceived value of its products. The Apple Upgrade program is available both in-store and online, with lease terms and pricing varying based on the device and storage capacity. For instance, iPhone and Apple Watch leases can last 12 or 24 months, while iPad and Mac leases range from 24 to 36 months. Customers can apply through Apple’s website or in physical stores, where the process is similar to in-person purchases. Klarna handles the loan application, which includes a soft credit check to verify identity and credit history. Approval results in a first payment due 30 days after the device is available for pickup or shipped. All payments are managed through the Klarna app, where users can track their billing schedule and remaining payments. Trade-in options are also available to reduce monthly costs. Customers can redeem the value of their existing Apple devices, with trade-in credits calculated using Apple’s online tool. The program also accepts select non-Apple devices, such as Google Pixel or OnePlus phones, for trade-ins. For iPhone leases, users must choose a carrier at the start of the agreement, though they can switch providers later without restrictions.#apple #iphone #klarna #ipad #mac
