Obama Presidential Center Tickets Go On Sale Ahead of Juneteenth Opening Tickets to the Obama Presidential Center are set to go on sale to the public next week, marking a significant step toward the long-awaited opening of the $850 million campus on Juneteenth. The Obama Foundation announced that general-admission tickets will be available starting Wednesday, with the public launch event scheduled for June 19. The center’s grand opening ceremony, which will be livestreamed, is set for June 18, followed by a free weekend of cultural and community activities around the Jackson Park campus from June 20 to 21. The museum, located at 6001 S. Stony Island Ave., will offer timed entry passes to ensure a smooth visitor experience. Visitors are encouraged to arrive within 10 minutes of their scheduled time slot. General-admission tickets for Illinois residents will cost $26 for adults and $15 for children aged 3 to 11, while free entry is available on Tuesdays for residents. Non-residents will pay $30 for adult tickets and $23 for children. Additional free access is provided for children under age 2, in-state educators teaching grades pre-kindergarten through 12, holders of EBT or WIC cards, and active-duty military members, veterans, and Chicago first responders. Guided tours, which last 90 minutes, are also available at varying prices. Tour tickets cost $75 per person Monday through Wednesday and $95 per person Thursday through Sunday. The museum’s operating hours are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
