Nebraska Softball Triumphs in NCAA Super Regional Opener The No. 1 Nebraska softball team secured a decisive 8-1 victory over No. 15 Oklahoma State in the first game of the NCAA Lincoln Super Regional on Friday evening at Bowlin Stadium. The win extended Nebraska’s winning streak to 25 games, setting a program record for consecutive victories, and propelled the Huskers to a 50-6 season mark. This achievement marks the fourth 50-win season in school history, with the team now one win away from advancing to the Women’s College World Series for the first time since 2013. The game, originally scheduled for Thursday night, was suspended due to weather conditions after the teams completed the top half of the first inning and two batters in the second. The contest resumed on Friday afternoon with Nebraska’s Hannah Coor on first base and one out. Nebraska quickly took control, with Jordy Frahm (20-4) delivering a complete-game performance in the pitching circle. Frahm allowed just one run and five hits while striking out seven batters. The Huskers’ offensive surge began in the second inning when H. Camenzind’s single loaded the bases, setting the stage for Jesse Farrell’s three-run home run that gave Nebraska a 3-0 lead. The offense continued to dominate in the third inning, as H. Camenzind walked and Kuszak doubled to put runners in scoring position. Farrell’s single plated two runs, and Bland’s double added another two, extending the lead to 7-0. Oklahoma State managed a single run in the top of the sixth inning via a solo home run, but Nebraska responded with a decisive rally in the bottom of the sixth. Frahm led off the inning with a single, advancing to second on a Coor walk and third on a H. Camenzind single. Kuszak’s sacrifice fly to right field plated Frahm, sealing the victory.#ncaa #nebraska #oklahoma_state #bowlin_stadium #jessie_farrell
