Vehicle Sale Scam: Vehicles Dismantled, Suspect Detained in Nagpur Chandrapur police have arrested a suspect in connection with a major vehicle fraud case involving the illegal takeover and dismantling of two dumpers belonging to a businessman from Bhadravati. The accused, Sabir Ali Sirajuddin Syed, allegedly lured the victim, Govind Atul Kundu, into a fraudulent sale by presenting notarized documents, but failed to pay the agreed amount or return the vehicles. The case came to light after Kundu reported the incident to authorities, prompting an investigation by Ghuggus police under the supervision of Inspector Yogesh Patil. The probe revealed that Syed had transported the two Tata dumpers (registered under MH-29-BE-1656 and MH-29-BE-1657) to Nagpur, where they were handed over to Jiya-ur-Rehman, alias Jiya Ansari. Acting on intelligence, police conducted a raid in Nagpur and detained Ansari. During interrogation, Ansari admitted to dismantling the dumpers using a gas-cutter at Syed’s instructions. Investigators recovered parts including the chassis, tyres, an oil tank, and other components. Further inquiries uncovered that Syed is linked to similar offenses in Chhattisgarh, where he remains in custody. The operation was led by senior district officials, with Police Inspector Prakash Raut overseeing the investigation. Authorities emphasized the need for vehicle owners to exercise caution when selling or leasing vehicles, urging them to ensure proper legal transfer, verify buyers, and complete all Regional Transport Office procedures to prevent fraud.
