Cubs Stars Rizzo and Ross Launch Podcast Honoring 2016 World Series Championship Chicago Cubs legends Anthony Rizzo and David Ross are set to debut a new podcast titled The Lovable Reunion, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 2016 World Series victory that ended the team’s 108-year championship drought. The podcast, launching on March 31 at The Volume, will feature in-depth conversations between Rizzo and Ross and members of the 2016 Cubs roster, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the historic season. Rizzo, a three-time All-Star first baseman who recently retired after a 14-year MLB career, will share insights into the team’s journey to the title. “Winning in 2016 is something I’ll carry with me forever,” Rizzo said. “There’s so much from that season people never really got to see. The Lovable Reunion goes back inside that run. We sit down with the guys and talk through what it really took to get there. Every player had a role. Every moment mattered. Now those stories are finally being told.” Ross, who capped his 15-year MLB career with the 2016 title, described the team’s chemistry as a key factor in their success. “The personalities, the chemistry between each guy in the clubhouse, and the belief we had in each other made that run truly special,” Ross said. “The Lovable Reunion brings those relationships back. It gives each guy space to tell his side of the story. You hear about the decisions, the emotions, and the big moments. These are the people who lived it. We’re excited to relive that win with the fans.” The 2016 Cubs, led by manager Joe Maddon, were a powerhouse squad that finished the regular season with an MLB-best 103 wins. The team’s roster included stars like Kris Bryant, Jon Lester, Jake Arrieta, and Kyle Schwarber, who returned from a torn ACL to play a pivotal role in the World Series.#anthony_rizzo #david_ross #2016_world_series #the_volume #joe_maddon
