Retired Brigadier Killed in Dehradun Road Rage Incident A retired brigadier, Brigadier K Joshi (70), was shot dead in a road rage incident in Dehradun on Monday morning. The incident occurred on Rajpur Road, where two groups of men in separate cars engaged in a confrontation that escalated into gunfire. According to Dehradun City Police Superintendent Pramod Kumar, the altercation began over a dispute related to overtaking on the Mussoorie road near Jori village. Kumar stated that the incident took place between 6:45 am and 7 am. Joshi, a resident of Rajpur, had stepped out for his routine morning walk when the conflict erupted. The police reported that one vehicle, an SUV, attempted to overtake another Delhi-registered SUV but failed. Enraged, the occupants of the first SUV pursued the second vehicle, opening fire with pistols to target its tires and force it to stop. During the exchange of gunfire, a stray bullet struck Joshi, who collapsed on the spot. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The police investigation revealed that the accused, driving the SUV, chased the Delhi-registered vehicle and fired at its tires. The Delhi SUV eventually crashed into a roadside tree. The accused then stopped their car, assaulted the two men inside the Delhi vehicle, damaged their car, and fled the scene. The suspects abandoned their car at a distance, and authorities are currently working to identify and apprehend those involved. An FIR has been registered, and the case is under active investigation. The incident highlights the dangers of road rage and the potential for violent confrontations on public roads.#rajpur_road #brigadier_k_joshi #dehradun_city_police_superintendent_pramod_kumar #mussoorie_road #jori_village
