Caviar and comfort food on the menu for A-listers on Oscars night Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck has crafted a menu featuring over 70 dishes for the Governors Ball, the official after-party following the Oscars ceremony. The event, held on Sunday, will serve more than 1,500 A-list celebrities and industry professionals from around the world. Puck, who has been responsible for the Oscars after-party catering for the 32nd time, emphasized the importance of comfort food in his menu, which includes items like chicken pot pie, smoked salmon pizza, macaroni and cheese, and mini Wagyu burgers. Puck shared insights during a preview event, noting that while innovation is key in the culinary world, some attempts to deviate from traditional favorites have not always been well-received. He recalled a past event where he tried to move away from pizza, only to be reminded by guests that they were expecting his signature dish. “They said, ‘Wolfgang, where’s your pizza station?’” he joked. The Governors Ball, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), is known for its extravagant setup. Puck described the event as a challenge due to the sheer number of guests, stating that the focus remains on quality ingredients and simple, well-executed dishes. “We have to cook for 1,500 people. We keep it simple. We don’t need 10 sauces with it,” he explained. The preparation of the banquet involves a large team of 75 savory chefs, 45 pastry chefs, and 325 front-of-house staff and managers. Together, they will prepare over 600 homemade pizzas, 3,000 artichoke agnolotti, and 2,000 mini chocolate Oscars.#governors_ball #wolfgang_puck #academy_of_motion_picture_arts_and_sciences #oscar_ceremony #kaluga_caviar
