On Friday, 295 buses will operate from Chennai’s Klamapakkam depot to various destinations, while 310 buses will be deployed on Saturday. Similarly, 55 buses will run from Chennai’s Koyambedu depot to destinations like Tiruvannamalai, Nagai, Vellankani, Ozhur, and Bengaluru on both days. Additional services will also be introduced from Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode, and Coimbatore to connect with other parts of the state. A total of 100 special buses will be allocated for these routes. Furthermore, 20 buses will operate from Madurai to Chennai and Bengaluru on Friday and Saturday. The government has emphasized that these services will be managed to ensure passenger comfort and safety. Passenger numbers have already shown a significant increase, with 7,446 passengers registered on Friday, 3,161 on Saturday, and 7,379 on Sunday. To address the need for overnight travel, the factory is now producing sleeper-class Vande Bharat trains. These trains are specifically designed to operate during nighttime, providing passengers with a more comfortable and restful journey. The first service of this type, featuring sleeper facilities, was introduced between Howrah and Kanyakumari in January 2026. This new service has been well-received, particularly among travelers who require overnight travel options.
