Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 Set for September Launch Amid Tenth Anniversary of 411 Model The Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is scheduled to make its debut in September, marking the tenth anniversary of the original Himalayan 411 model. The launch event will take place at the Royal Enfield Himalayan Basecamp in Leh, Ladakh, a location historically significant for the brand’s rugged adventure motorcycles. This new variant builds on the legacy of the Himalayan series, which has long been celebrated for its off-road capabilities and durability in challenging terrains. The Himalayan 440 is based on the Royal Enfield Scram 440, sharing its 443cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder LS440 engine. This engine delivers 25.4 brake horsepower and 34 Newton-meters of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The engine’s design emphasizes effortless torque delivery, making it ideal for both relaxed touring and more demanding off-road conditions. The increased power output compared to the 411 model is expected to enhance the motorcycle’s versatility, particularly in environments where low-end grunt is critical. The chassis of the Himalayan 440 is anticipated to feature a steel frame with a telescopic fork and monoshock suspension, ensuring stability and comfort over varied surfaces. A notable upgrade from the Scram 440 is the 21-inch front wheel, which should improve the bike’s ability to navigate broken roads, muddy trails, and river crossings. This design choice aligns with the Himalayan 411’s proven capability to handle such terrains, while the added power of the 440 engine is expected to further elevate its performance in these conditions. Design-wise, the Himalayan 440 is likely to retain the functional aesthetic of the discontinued 411 model.#ladakh #ladakh #royal_enfield #leh #himalayan_440 #scram_440

The 42-hour ride, which began on May 25, saw Rawale traverse some of the world’s most challenging and high-altitude motorable roads, including the Khardung La and Umling La passes. After reaching Delhi on the same day, he continued his route to Sarchu on May 26 before arriving in Leh on May 27. The expedition tested Rawale’s physical and mental endurance, as he navigated the demanding Mig La Pass, a route known for its extreme weather conditions, treacherous terrain, and high-altitude challenges. Rawale emphasized that he is the first biker from the Vidarbha region to successfully complete this route, underscoring the significance of his achievement. Following the Himalayan leg of the journey, he embarked on the return trip from Leh to Nagpur, covering the distance nonstop in 42 hours. Rawale’s primary goal was to advocate for safer riding practices among motorcyclists. He stressed that adventure riding should not equate to reckless behavior, urging riders to prioritize safety over speed. “True strength is not measured by the distance we cover, but by our commitment to fitness, safety, and continuous self-improvement,” he stated. The ride coincided with Men’s Health Week, allowing Rawale to emphasize the importance of physical fitness and mental well-being for long-distance riders. He highlighted that such journeys require regular exercise, a balanced diet, discipline, and mental resilience.#nagpur #ashish_rawale #leh #khardung_la #umling_la
