Bihar Weather Alert: IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Rain and Lightning in 8 Districts The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for light rainfall and lightning in eight districts of Bihar on Wednesday, with wind speeds potentially reaching up to 40 km/h. While these areas are expected to experience the weather changes, the rest of the state is likely to see normal conditions. The Meteorological Centre in Patna reported that the region will have partly cloudy skies during the day, with sunshine anticipated, which may lead to humid conditions for residents. The department also noted that weather patterns across the state are expected to return to normal after March 11. In the past 24 hours, Begusarai and Jehanabad experienced light cloud cover in the morning, while fog was reported in Nalanda. Weather conditions are expected to remain stable in about 30 districts, with no warnings issued for major cities such as Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Nalanda, and Purnia. Residents in these areas are likely to encounter typical weather conditions alongside a gradual increase in temperature. Minimum temperatures in parts of Bihar ranged from 19°C to 24°C. The lowest recorded temperature was 19.7°C in Madhepura, followed by 19.9°C in Madhubani, 20.4°C in Aurangabad and Valmikinagar, and 24°C in Patna. The IMD has advised residents in the affected districts to remain alert due to the potential for rain and lightning. Farmers working in fields, individuals in open areas, and those near electric poles or trees are urged to take precautions during thunderstorms. The advisory highlights the need for caution, particularly for vulnerable groups such as those in open spaces or near electrical infrastructure.#india_meteorological_department #bihar #patna #jehanabad #madhepura
