Former Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell lands two-year deal with Chargers Former Baltimore Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell has signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, totaling $9.25 million with $5 million fully guaranteed. The move aims to bolster the Chargers’ backfield with additional speed, as Mitchell joins a team already featuring established running backs. Mitchell, who was an undrafted rookie signed by the Ravens in 2023, became a free agent after the Ravens declined to tender him as a restricted free agent. The decision saved the team from potential financial commitments, as a first-round tender would have cost $3.5 million and a second-round tender $5.8 million. Mitchell’s departure allowed him to pursue opportunities elsewhere, ultimately leading to his new deal with the Chargers. The Chargers’ new offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel, known for his success in Miami with running back Devon Achane, is expected to integrate Mitchell into a system that emphasizes speed and agility. Mitchell’s career average of 6.3 yards per carry highlights his potential as a dynamic playmaker. However, his 2024 season was limited to just five games due to a knee injury sustained in his rookie year. During the 2025 season, Mitchell faced challenges in securing consistent playing time. Under former offensive coordinator Todd Monken, he was rarely utilized, with no game exceeding nine carries. Despite the limited opportunities, he maintained an impressive 5.8 yards per carry average over 59 rushing attempts. He also showed flashes of his explosiveness, recording four carries of 20 yards or more. Mitchell’s 2025 season concluded with 59 carries for 341 yards and a touchdown, along with nine receptions for 63 yards on 12 targets across 13 games.#baltimore_ravens #los_angeles_chargers #mike_mcDaniel #keaton_mitchell #derrick_henry

Justin Herbert Leaves 2-Word Love Note on Madison Beer’s Birthday Outfit Post Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has expressed his affection for girlfriend Madison Beer by leaving a heartfelt two-word message on her Instagram post celebrating her birthday. The post, which features Beer in a birthday outfit, was captioned with a heart symbol and the number 27, referencing her age. Herbert’s comment on the post simply reads, “My love,” showcasing the couple’s public affection. The pair, who officially began dating in 2025, have been a visible couple in the public eye, frequently seen at Chargers games and at various events. Beer has been a vocal supporter of Herbert’s career, attending multiple games this season and making appearances alongside him. Their relationship has become a topic of interest among fans, adding a personal dimension to Herbert’s professional journey. Herbert, 27, has been a key figure for the Chargers, leading the team’s offense with his talent and leadership. However, his postseason struggles—marked by a lack of playoff victories—have kept him from being universally recognized as an elite quarterback. Despite this, his on-field success and off-field relationships continue to draw attention. The Chargers’ offensive strategy is also evolving with the hiring of Mike McDaniel as their new offensive coordinator. McDaniel, previously the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, brings a fresh perspective to the team’s playbook, potentially adding new dimensions to Herbert’s game. Analysts are optimistic about the potential synergy between McDaniel’s system and Herbert’s skills, which could position the Chargers as a serious contender in the 2026-27 season.#los_angeles_chargers #mike_mcDaniel #justin_herbert #madison_beer #2026_27_season

Chargers To Sign G Cole Strange Cole Strange is heading to Los Angeles. The former first-round pick reached an agreement with the Chargers this evening, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Strange will ink a two-year deal worth $13 million, per Schefter. This move reunites the lineman with Mike McDaniel, who took a chance on Strange in Miami. The lineman was considered a reach when the Patriots selected him out of Chattanooga in 2022. Strange started all 17 of his appearances as a rookie but was limited to 10 games as a sophomore thanks to a torn patellar tendon. He was activated back to the active roster the following December and ultimately got into three games for the 2024 Patriots. He was cut by the organization at the end of the 2025 preseason. After initially catching on with the Browns practice squad, Strange joined the Dolphins active roster in September. He proceeded to start all 14 of his appearances with Miami, with Pro Football Focus crediting him with 21 pressures allowed and 16 hurries allowed. Strange was also responsible for a pair of sacks. Still, McDaniel apparently saw enough in the lineman to recruit him to Los Angeles. The Chargers are down both of their starting offensive guards; the team released Mekhi Becton and free agent Zion Johnson agreed to a three-year, $49.5 million contract with the Browns today. The front office re-signed Trevor Penning, although he could profile as OT insurance behind Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt. That means Strange may initially be pencilled into the Chargers starting lineup. Dolphins to release Tua Tagovailoa, take on record cap hit MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins will release quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after the start of the new league year, a decision that will leave the team with an NFL-record $99 million in dead money against the salary cap. The move, announced by the Dolphins in a statement, marks the end of Tagovailoa’s six-year tenure with the franchise, which began with a fifth-overall draft pick in 2020. The release will be designated post-June 1, allowing the Dolphins to split the financial burden over two years, with $67.4 million in 2026 and $31.8 million in 2027. General manager Jon-Eric Sullivan emphasized the team’s focus on fostering competition and building a foundation for long-term success. “As we move forward, we will be focused on infusing competition across the roster and establishing a strong foundation for this team as we work towards building a sustained winner,” Sullivan said in the team’s statement. The decision to part ways with Tagovailoa, who had been benched for the final three games of the 2025 season, comes after months of public speculation about his future with the Dolphins. Sullivan confirmed the release in a statement, noting that the team had explored all options, including a trade, but none materialized. “I recently informed Tua and his representation that we are going to move in a new direction at the quarterback position and will be releasing him after the start of the new league year,” Sullivan said. He praised Tagovailoa’s contributions, both on and off the field, during his time with the Dolphins. Tagovailoa’s departure leaves the Dolphins with Quinn Ewers, a seventh-round pick in 2025, as their most experienced returning quarterback.#miami_dolphins #tua_tagovailoa #jon_eric_sullivan #quinn_ewers #mike_mcDaniel
