Hindustan Zinc Announces 5000 Crore Rupees Investment Plan for FY26-27 Hindustan Zinc, a subsidiary of Vedanta Group, has outlined a capital expenditure plan of approximately 5000 crore rupees for the financial year 2026-27. The company stated that around 80% of this investment will be allocated to ongoing projects, while 20% will be reserved for new initiatives. The focus will be on expanding production capacity, constructing new smelters, and advancing mining projects. The company’s CEO, Arun Mishra, revealed that the current financial year will see an expenditure of 500 to 600 million dollars, equivalent to 5000 crore rupees. Of this, 80% will be directed toward existing projects, with the remaining 20% earmarked for new ventures. The company plans to announce details of these new projects in the near future. Capacity expansion remains a key priority. Hindustan Zinc’s total project capacity is estimated at 10 lakh tons, with 2.5 lakh tons of expansion already approved. This expansion requires an investment of 12,000 crore rupees, covering mining and mineral processing projects. The company has already placed orders for mining equipment and initiated construction for new smelters. However, some milling and concentrate-related orders are pending, which will be completed to further boost production capacity. Looking ahead, the company aims to increase its production capacity to 6.5 lakh tons. To achieve this, a phased investment plan over the next four to five years is in place. Annual investments during this period are projected to range between 7000 and 8000 crore rupees. While the current financial year will account for only 15 to 20% of this total investment in cash outflows, the long-term strategy underscores the company’s commitment to scaling operations.#hindustan_zinc #vedanta_group #smelters #arun_mishra #mining_equipment
