The report highlighted that 111 of the 168 acres acquired by the family are located near road projects initiated by Yadav’s government. The buyers listed in the investigation include Yadav’s wife, Seema; his son’s wife, Shalini Yadav; his brothers, Nandlal and Narayan Yadav; Narayan’s wife, Rekha; their son, Abhay Yadav; and first cousins, Govind and Nilesh Yadav. These individuals either directly or through four family-run real estate companies secured the land. The investigation noted that the family already held significant land holdings prior to Yadav becoming chief minister, but the pace of acquisitions accelerated after he took office. In 2025, during a period of local resistance to proposals for permanent Kumbh infrastructure in Ujjain, the family and their companies purchased at least 62 plots spanning 92 acres. This timing coincided with the state government’s push to reclassify land use under the Ujjain Master Plan 2035, which shifted areas from agricultural to residential or commercial purposes.
