State-of-the-Art Bus Stands to Be Constructed in Patna, Mokama, Naubatpur, and Paliganj Construction of modern bus stands and depots is set to begin in December in Patna, Mokama, Naubatpur, and Paliganj. These facilities will serve as hubs for luxury buses connecting the region to 10 states, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh. Land has been marked for the projects, with Baira allocated 5 acres for a large government bus stand. Once operational, these terminals will enable 24-hour bus services from Patna and surrounding areas, offering significant convenience to travelers who need to travel late at night. The initiative aims to permanently alleviate traffic congestion in Patna while improving inter-state connectivity. Transport Minister Damodar Rawat highlighted that world-class bus depots and terminals are being developed across Bihar, including Patna, to enhance public transportation infrastructure. The project also plans to establish multi-modal hubs in 30 districts. Specific land allocations include 5.57 acres in Aurangabad, 5.11 acres in Muzaffarpur, 4.95 acres in Gaya, 4.72 acres in Jamui, and 4.57 acres in Nawada. Several districts, such as Bihar Sharif, Purnia, Munger (Taraapur), and Darbhanga, have already secured over 3 acres of government land for depot construction. Additional depots will be built in Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Motihari, Chapra, Sultanpur, Bhadua, Chakai, Sitamarhi, Ara, Jahannabad, Sangrampur, Bhadouni, and Rajgir. The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation will construct the depots using the public-private partnership (PPP) model on government-owned land.
