Soha’s ownership of the former generator room began after the palace was leased to Neemrana Hotels between 2005 and 2014. During this period, the family temporarily relocated to the space, which was later converted into a two-bedroom apartment. Soha explained that her parents, actor Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, needed a place to stay while the hotel managed the property. “The palace was leased to Neemrana Hotels, and when it was, my parents needed a place to live, so the generator room was made into a very nice equivalent of a two-BHK,” she said in an interview with Housing.com.
