Abhijeet Dipke Announces Indefinite Hunger Strike Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, announced an indefinite hunger strike on Saturday after police allegedly removed Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest site. Dipke, who was present at the protest, described the incident as a violation of democratic principles, claiming that Wangchuk was taken away under a sheet without medical attention despite his deteriorating health. The police reportedly forced Wangchuk to leave the protest area, leading Dipke to accuse authorities of treating him like a criminal. Dipke expressed emotional distress during the announcement, stating that Wangchuk, a prominent social activist, had refused to go to the hospital and insisted on continuing the protest. He criticized the police for their handling of the situation, arguing that their actions demonstrated a lack of respect for peaceful demonstrations. Dipke also condemned the authorities for allegedly using excessive force, claiming that the police had physically assaulted him while attempting to remove him from the protest site. The activist called for nationwide protests, urging people to establish protest sites in every district of the country. He asserted that the government would not be able to suppress the movement, emphasizing that the public’s support would ensure its continuation. Dipke also linked the incident to broader issues of political repression, accusing the authorities of targeting dissenters and undermining democratic freedoms. Delhi Police officials responded by stating that Wangchuk had been hospitalized due to worsening health conditions following his prolonged hunger strike.#sonam_wangchuk #neet_exam #cockroach_janta_party #abhijeet_dipke #jantar_mantar

Karnataka Announces Record 1,122 Additional Medical Seats for State Colleges The Karnataka government has approved a record 1,122 additional government medical seats, marking a significant expansion of medical education infrastructure in the state. The announcement was made by Health Minister Dr. Sharanprakash R. Patil, who highlighted that this move sets a new benchmark for medical education in India. The additional seats will be allocated to several government medical colleges across the state, including Koppal, Gadag, Chamarajanagar, and Kavara, addressing regional disparities in access to higher medical education. The decision comes amid ongoing controversies surrounding the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam, which has been a source of debate over its perceived fairness and accessibility. Dr. Patil emphasized that the new seats will provide much-needed relief to aspiring medical students, particularly those affected by the uncertainties surrounding the NEET process. He stated that the allocation of these seats reflects the state’s commitment to enhancing medical education and ensuring equitable opportunities for students. The additional seats were approved following a proposal submitted to the central government in May, which received final approval from the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry. The allocation of these seats is accompanied by a substantial financial package of over 1,090 crores, with 495 crores allocated for undergraduate (UG) seats and 541 crores for postgraduate (PG) seats. This funding is intended to support the expansion of medical infrastructure and improve the quality of education in state-run colleges. Currently, Karnataka has 72 government medical colleges, offering 13,945 UG seats and 7,727 PG seats.#karnataka #gadag #dr_sharanprakash_r_patil #neet_exam #koppal
