Badi, who was born in Bindwal village of Azamgarh district in 1936, was first elected as an MLA in the 1996 mid-term elections. He went on to represent Nizamabad in subsequent elections held in 2002, 2012, 2017, and 2022, all under the Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket. Despite his advanced age, Badi remained an active and influential figure in state politics, known for his simplicity, humility, and dedication to the welfare of the underprivileged. His passing on July 23, 2026, marked the end of an era for the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh. During his address in the assembly, Yogi Adityanath praised Badi’s life of service, emphasizing that true dedication to the public transcends age.
