Two Nagpur Post Offices Get Modern Makeover Two post offices in Nagpur, located at Shankar Nagar and Ayodhya Nagar, underwent a significant renovation as part of India Post’s ‘Jan Seva Connect’ initiative. The revamped facilities were officially inaugurated on Monday, with Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia and Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Chandrashekhar Pemmasani attending the event. The Shankar Nagar post office was locally inaugurated by Nagpur’s mayor, Neeta Thakre, alongside NMC standing committee chairperson Shivani Dani-Wakhre and corporator Yogesh Pachpor. The Ayodhya Nagar branch was inaugurated by Nagpur South MLA Mohan Mate, with Simran Kaur, director of postal services for Maharashtra circle, also present. The modernization of both post offices was part of a broader effort to enhance customer experience and streamline services. The upgraded infrastructure now offers postal, savings bank, and postal life insurance services in a more accessible and user-friendly environment. The design of the renovated spaces was developed by the National School of Planning and Architecture, incorporating features such as rounded corners for safety, an information wall, and a modern layout aimed at improving visitor comfort. Simran Kaur, speaking to The Times of India, highlighted the importance of these design choices in creating a more welcoming and efficient space for patrons. The transformation of the post offices followed months of work, as stated by Sudhir Jakhare, director of postal services for the Nagpur postal region.
