Norway's Oil And Gas Output Tops Forecast in April Norway's combined oil and gas production exceeded an official forecast by 4.6% in April, according to data released by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD). The report, published on Wednesday, noted that the country's output surpassed expectations despite monthly variations caused by maintenance schedules and operational stoppages at nearly 100 offshore fields. Total production of oil, condensate, natural gas liquids, and gas reached 0.682 million standard cubic metres per day in April, equivalent to 4.29 million barrels of oil equivalent. This represents a 2.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Natural gas production declined slightly to 339.2 million cubic metres per day from 342 million cubic metres in April 2023, but it still exceeded the forecasted 330.4 million cubic metres by 2.7%. Crude oil output rose to 1.94 million barrels per day in April, up from 1.83 million barrels per day in the same month the previous year. This figure surpassed the forecasted 1.81 million barrels per day. The NOD's preliminary data highlighted these figures, underscoring the nation's role as a key producer of oil and natural gas. The NOD emphasized that production levels fluctuate due to maintenance needs and other stoppages at offshore fields. However, the April results indicate that the industry maintained its output despite these challenges. The data reflects the country's ability to manage operational disruptions while sustaining production levels. The report also noted that Norway remains Europe's largest supplier of natural gas and a major global oil producer. The figures highlight the country's continued significance in the energy sector, even as production varies from month to month.#norway #norwegian_offshore_directorate #terje_solsvik #nora_buli #norwegian_oil_and_gas
