NTA CUET UG 2026 Exam Begins Today: Key Guidelines and Registration Details The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 examinations today, May 11, in a computer-based test (CBT) format across India and 14 international centers. The exam will run from May 11 to May 31, covering 300 cities in India and 14 locations in countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, and the United States. Candidates are advised to check updates and official notices through the NTA website and the CUET UG portal. Over 15 lakh candidates have registered for the exam, with a total of 15,68,866 applicants. The registrations generated nearly 67.56 lakh test instances across 12,906 subject combinations, as candidates opted for an average of 4.31 subjects each. The examination will be conducted in 35 shifts over a 21-day period. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Delhi accounted for nearly 43% of total registrations. Among subjects, English had the highest registrations at 12.64 lakh, followed by Chemistry (9.51 lakh), Physics (9.14 lakh), General Aptitude Test (9.12 lakh), Mathematics or Applied Mathematics (5.81 lakh), and Biology or Biotechnology (5.56 lakh). The NTA allocated examination cities to 96.6% of candidates, with 79% receiving their first-choice locations. A special re-allocation window was provided for candidates whose preferred cities could not be accommodated due to capacity constraints in high-demand areas. On the first day of the exam, two shifts will be conducted.
