The statue, central to the film’s plot, serves as the vessel through which Odysseus (played by Matt Damon) and his crew execute their secret attack on Troy, marking the start of their journey home. Christopher Nolan and his team constructed the horse as part of the film’s production, with the director himself participating in its creation. During a press event, John Leguizamo, who portrays Odysseus’ loyal companion Eumaeus, described his surprise upon learning that Nolan had been inside the horse during filming. “I was looking for Chris Nolan to meet him, and they told me he was inside the horse with 20 actors and the DP [Hoyte van Hoytema] and the IMAX camera. I couldn’t believe that. I was like, wow, this man is a leader,” Leguizamo said to The Hollywood Reporter.
