Kurt Russell, 74, reveals how much aging rules his life Kurt Russell opened up about the realities of aging in an interview with AARP's Movies for Grownups, sharing insights ahead of his 75th birthday. Despite a lifetime in the spotlight and exposure to unattainable beauty standards in the entertainment industry, the actor said aging had never been a source of concern for him. "Aging is just a part of life," he stated. "I don't look at it like age is just a number. I don't buy that phrase. Age is a reality, but it's not something that ever ruled my life." Russell compared the natural changes that come with age to the unpredictable nature of an actor's career. "Your hair color is never the same. The length is never the same. Your face isn't the same. Your body language isn't the same. Your age isn't even the same," he explained. He emphasized that his passion for his work remained undiminished, noting that the entertainment industry is unique in how it allows people to evolve without being defined by their age. Reflecting on his life, Russell credited aging with bringing wisdom, particularly for men. "As you get older as a male, for men, it's wisdom," he said. "As they get older, hopefully they gain wisdom and wisdom becomes more their power." However, he admitted to avoiding direct instruction with his children, preferring to let them learn independently. "I don't intentionally, and whatever I impart, I don't know if it's wisdom-oriented," he joked. "I do know that after having done this for so long, you keep your mouth shut and your ears open, and you're going to have learned some things." Russell also highlighted the role his 43-year relationship with actress Goldie Hawn has played in his life. "She's not the type of person that wears on you. She's just a blast," he said.#kurt_russell #aarp_movies_for_grownups #goldie_hawn #kate_hudson #oliver_hudson
