Pattwell recounted the events of his vacation, explaining that he and his wife were on a camping trip in Northern Michigan when he decided to buy a Fantasy 5 ticket. He admitted to forgetting whether he had already purchased a ticket for the drawing, so he stopped at a store to buy one. Upon returning home, he began reviewing his collection of tickets and discovered the June 15 winning numbers among his purchases. “I recognized the June 15 Double Play winning numbers right away and was thrilled that I’d won $110,000,” he said. After informing his wife of the first win, he continued checking his tickets and realized he had two entries for the same drawing. “I called my wife again and said: ‘You’re not going to believe this, but I won a second $110,000 prize!’ I couldn’t believe it.” The 68-year-old lottery winner visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to officially claim his prizes.
