Tamil Nadu Minister Adhav Arjun Criticizes Dravuk Leader Rajan for Comments Against Thirumavalvan Chennai, 22 May (PTI) Tamil Nadu Minister Adhav Arjun on Friday sharply criticized Dravuk leader A. Rajan for his alleged derogatory remarks against VCK chief Thol Thirumavalvan, accusing him of violating the principles of dignity and decorum upheld by leaders like Periyar and Anna. Arjun, who heads the Department of Public Works and Sports Development, condemned the use of "unacceptable language" against Thirumavalvan and his supporters, calling it a direct affront to the ethical standards of Tamil Nadu politics. "Senior leader Thirumavalvan and VCK workers have been subjected to extremely condemnable language, which is entirely contrary to the principles of dignity and decorum taught by Periyar and Anna," Arjun stated during a press briefing. He further alleged that Dravuk had completely forgotten its core values of integrity and discipline. Arjun demanded an unconditional apology from Rajan and challenged Dravuk president M.K. Stalin and MP Kanimoi to clarify the party's official stance on the matter. The minister also emphasized the need for strict action against any attempts to undermine the dignity and safety of women in politics. Rajan, in response, compared the IUMML and VCK to a "coconut tree leaning toward the neighbor," questioning whether such groups should be labeled as "coconut trees" for prioritizing the welfare of others. He remarked, "What should we call those who, like a coconut tree, bend toward their neighbor to provide benefits?"
