The study represents a departure from previous methods of viral genome synthesis, which primarily focused on replicating existing viral DNA for research purposes. Instead, the AI-driven process allowed scientists to engineer entirely new viral structures by analyzing natural DNA patterns and generating unique genetic sequences. These sequences were then used to create DNA molecules, which were inserted into bacterial hosts.
