He highlighted the induction of the INS Mahendragiri, a modern warship designed and manufactured in India, as a symbol of the nation’s growing indigenous capabilities. Modi noted that over 75 percent of the ship’s components are domestically sourced, underscoring the achievements of the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiative. The Prime Minister also praised the indigenously developed Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR-120), an advanced artillery system created by the Defence Research and Development Organisation, which boasts a validated strike range of 60 to 120 kilometers. Modi further acknowledged the successful flight test of the Khusha Missile, describing it as a milestone in India’s expanding indigenous defence capabilities. He emphasized the collective effort of scientists and engineers behind these advancements, stating, "Behind this success, it is the collective hardwork of our scientists and engineers." The Prime Minister’s address also included a tribute to the soldiers who fought in the 1999 Kargil War, with a focus on the sacrifices made during the conflict. On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Modi paid homage to the bravery of the armed forces, recalling the challenges faced during the war, including harsh weather and enemy tactics.
