Priya Bhavani Shankar Confident About Irumudi’s Impact on Telugu Cinema Priya Bhavani Shankar, a prominent figure in Telugu and Tamil cinema, has expressed her belief that the upcoming film Irumudi, directed by Shiva Nirvana and starring Ravi Teja, will rank among the best Telugu films in recent years. The film, set for a theatrical release on August 21, has already garnered attention for its emotional narrative centered on the father-daughter bond between Ravi Teja and Nakshatra’s characters. Priya, who plays a pivotal role in the film, emphasized her commitment to roles that are integral to the story, stating, “My effort has always been to choose films where my character is significant to the story, irrespective of the screentime. I’ve consciously avoided decorative characters.” The project came to Priya through the production house Mythri Movie Makers, which she joined after a detailed discussion with director Shiva Nirvana. She noted that the story’s focus on the father-daughter relationship raised concerns about her character’s visibility, but Shiva’s openness to her input led to her involvement. Priya also highlighted her dedication to mastering the Telugu language for the role, including learning dialogues and dubbing for the film. While she remains uncertain whether her dubbed lines will make the final cut, she trusts the director’s judgment to determine what best serves the film. Beyond Irumudi, Priya is currently working on the sequel to her popular web series Dhootha, alongside Tamil films Demonte Colony 3 and Maragadha Nanayam 2. Reflecting on her nine-year journey in cinema, she acknowledged the rapid pace of her career, which she initially did not anticipate. Priya’s path to acting began unexpectedly, as she pursued journalism rather than film.#mythri_movie_makers #nakshatra #priya_bhavani_shankar #shiva_nirvana #ravi_teja
