Every user or organization has an influence if people choose to become their patrons, going multiple levels far, the total influence is an aggregated of all patrons and patrons of these patrons. This gives a good indication of the support a person or organization gets from the people. For example, for a political party their influence would reasonably be considered an aggregation of the influences of their party leaders and everyone that is a direct patron of the party itself. When the same influence is plotted on a map, you get a very informative and intuitive understanding of the geographic distribution of the influence.
