Nagpur Gears Up to Host BRICS Transport Ministers as Final Preparations Enter Last Mile Nagpur has entered the final phase of preparations for the Third BRICS Transport Working Group Meeting, a four-day international conference scheduled from July 9 to 12. The event will bring together transport ministers and senior officials from 11 countries, including all BRICS member nations, to discuss global transportation challenges and collaboration opportunities. Authorities emphasized that the gathering will serve as a platform to showcase the city’s infrastructure and organizational capabilities on the global stage. Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari chaired a high-level review meeting on Monday to ensure seamless coordination across departments. She directed all agencies to prioritize flawless execution of the conference, stressing that the event must reflect the highest standards of planning and administration. Bidari highlighted the importance of the Central and Maharashtra governments’ joint efforts to mobilize resources and eliminate any potential shortcomings. “Every department must work in close coordination to ensure the conference is organized in a distinctive and successful manner,” she stated, underscoring Nagpur’s goal to enhance its international reputation. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been entrusted with organizing the conference, while the district administration oversees overall coordination and support. Key logistical arrangements include the reception of foreign delegations at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, accommodation at the Radisson Blu Hotel, and medical services.
