Two individuals suspected of spying for Pakistan have been arrested in Hapur district of western Uttar Pradesh. According to police sources, the arrests were carried out by an Intelligence Bureau (IB) team from Delhi. The suspects are alleged to have been engaged in espionage activities on behalf of Pakistan since 2025. The police investigation revealed that the accused maintained communication with a Pakistan-based gangster named Shahzad Bhatti through social media platforms. They reportedly exchanged sensitive information with Pakistani handlers in exchange for financial compensation. The probe also uncovered that the suspects conducted surveillance of locations such as Ramesh Nagar Metro Station, temples, and other public areas. A formal case has been registered against both individuals, and they are currently undergoing interrogation to gather more details about the espionage network. Shahzad Bhatti is described as a gangster with ties to international criminal networks in Pakistan. He is associated with illegal arms trade and has connections in countries including Europe, the United States, Canada, and Dubai. Reports indicate that Bhatti was previously banned by the Pakistani government but returned to the country in May 2025. The police have not provided further details about the extent of the network or the specific information exchanged. The case highlights ongoing concerns about cross-border intelligence activities and the role of criminal networks in facilitating such operations.#pakistan #intelligence_bureau #shahzad_bhatti #ramesh_nagar_metro_station #western_up
