RGUHS Plans 900-bed High-Tech Hospital The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has announced plans to establish a 900-bed high-tech hospital at its Ramanagara campus in Karnataka. The project, part of a broader campus development initiative near Archakarahalli, aims to expand healthcare infrastructure and support clinical practice and medical education in the state. The new facility is envisioned as an integrated hub for healthcare services and medical training, with an estimated development cost of INR 600 crore. The hospital will be equipped with modern medical technologies, advanced diagnostic services, and specialized treatment departments. It is intended to serve as a critical clinical training center for students at the upcoming government medical college affiliated with RGUHS. The project forms part of the university’s larger campus expansion, which originally included plans for medical, dental, pharmacy, and nursing colleges, along with a 250-bed super-specialty hospital and a 750-bed high-tech hospital. The revised plan now consolidates these into a single 900-bed facility. RGUHS officials stated that the decision to construct the hospital was approved by the university’s Senate and Syndicate. A detailed project proposal and master plan have been submitted to the Karnataka government for approval. Vice-Chancellor B.C. Bhagwan emphasized the necessity of the hospital, stating that the university has submitted a proposal to the National Medical Commission (NMC) for a new government medical college in Ramanagara. He noted that the hospital is essential to support the college’s operations and provide hands-on clinical training for students.#karnataka #national_medical_commission #ramanagara #rajiv_gandhi_university_of_health_sciences #rguhs_syndicate
