Dilwali Heatwave Intensifies as Delhi-NCR Faces Scorching Temperatures; IMD Predicts Weather Trends for Next Week The heatwave in Delhi is intensifying, with temperatures expected to surpass 38 degrees Celsius in the coming days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature in Delhi is projected to cross 38 degrees Celsius within the next three days, while the minimum temperature is set to rise to 20 degrees Celsius by the end of the week. The weather forecast indicates that there will be no significant change in the weather pattern for the entire week. Although cloud cover may persist, there is no likelihood of western disturbances or rainfall during this period. However, a slight decrease in temperatures by 1-2 degrees Celsius is anticipated towards the weekend. On Sunday, the sky remained clear throughout the day, with intense sunlight. The maximum temperature recorded was 35.6 degrees Celsius, which is 7.2 degrees above the normal average, while the minimum temperature stood at 16.7 degrees Celsius, 2.7 degrees higher than usual. Humidity levels fluctuated between 94% and 28%. The most scorching area in the capital was Riz, with a maximum temperature of 38.9 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Rajghat recorded the highest minimum temperature at 20.3 degrees Celsius. The IMD predicts that on Monday, partial cloud cover will be present, though bright sunshine is expected to return. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain around 37 and 17 degrees Celsius, respectively. The prolonged heatwave has raised concerns about the health of residents, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing medical conditions.#delhi #india_meteorological_department #delhi_ncr #riz #rajghat
