NMC Sanitation Worker's Son Upgraded to Class III Post Before Appointment Sparks Legal Dispute A contentious administrative dispute has emerged at the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) after the son of a sanitation worker, Mangesh Badhel, was allegedly upgraded to a Class III post before his formal appointment. The case has drawn judicial scrutiny and political attention, highlighting concerns over procedural irregularities and the impact on existing employees. Badhel, a resident of Borkar Nagar on Ghat Road, applied for a job on compassionate grounds following his mother’s voluntary retirement from the NMC. His mother, a sanitation worker, had opted for retirement, prompting Badhel to seek employment. Initially, the NMC processed his appointment as a sanitation worker, but Badhel, who holds a BE and MBA, declined the offer. Instead, he sought a Class III position, citing eligibility under a 2023 state government resolution that allows appointments based on educational qualifications. The controversy deepened when it was revealed that Badhel’s upgradation to a Class III category had already been processed, even though his original appointment as a sanitation worker had not been finalized. Badhel submitted his application on December 21, 2023, and the proposal was initiated by the solid waste management department in August 2024. The case gained political traction after BJP MLC and former mayor Sandip Joshi forwarded a directive from Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in July 2025, urging officials to expedite the process. Despite this, Badhel’s appointment remained pending. Existing employees, however, raised objections, arguing that promotions should adhere to seniority norms and not be influenced by direct inductions.#bjp #devendra_fadnavis #nmc #sandip_joshi #mangesh_badhel

RSS Chief Bhagwat Emphasizes Selfless Service Over Ego and Self-Interest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the importance of selfless service during his address at the inauguration of the Gangadharrao Fadnavis Memorial Diagnostic Centre in Nagpur. Speaking at the event, Bhagwat asserted that true service begins when a person transcends self-interest, ego, fear, and electoral ambitions. He criticized much of the so-called service today, calling it driven by personal motives rather than genuine selflessness. Bhagwat praised Gangadharrao Fadnavis, the late father of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, for his integrity and dedication, noting that his work was untouched by personal gain. Bhagwat described the highest form of service as absorbing others' suffering without expecting anything in return. He warned that motivations like hope for reward, ego, and fear are unsustainable for true service. "Once self-interest is fulfilled, a person quietly withdraws," he said, taking a veiled jab at service initiatives tied to elections. He pointed out that many organizations see a surge in participation during elections but struggle to retain members afterward. Bhagwat emphasized that service is not charity but a duty that purifies the individual. "Through service, we forget ‘I’ and ‘mine,’" he said, adding that the person being served actually does the server a favor. The RSS chief urged people to focus on small, consistent actions to drive national progress. He cited examples like caring for the education and health of children of domestic workers, arguing that even minor contributions in education, health, and employment can bridge existing gaps. Bhagwat stressed that true service transforms the tears of suffering into tears of joy, and those who strive for this are considered saintly.#nitin_gadkari #devendra_fadnavis #mohan_bhagwat #gangadharrao_fadnavis #sandip_joshi
