Bhagalpur News: Arra District Takes Strict Measures Against Black Market and Hoarding The district administration in Arra, Bihar, has intensified efforts to curb black market activities, hoarding, and illegal sales of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and petroleum products. Officials have emphasized continuous monitoring to ensure the availability of essential supplies and prevent disruptions in the market. A recent report highlights that the district administration is actively addressing complaints related to the distribution of LPG and petroleum products. According to Shambhu Kumar Rajak, the district’s public relations officer, 600 complaints were received between March 17, 2026, and the present date. Of these, 585 have been resolved, while the remaining 15 cases are under investigation, with instructions sent to the relevant gas agency managers for further action. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry has issued directives to combat irregularities in the supply chain. These include strict measures against unauthorized stockpiling, hoarding, and illegal trade of petroleum products. Industrial and commercial users are advised to procure fuel only from authorized consumer pumps. Retail outlets are instructed to sell high-speed diesel (HSD) exclusively in approved containers and limit sales to 200 liters per customer per day. Additionally, resale of purchased fuel is prohibited. District authorities have also directed all sub-divisional magistrates, block development officers, and other administrative officials to conduct regular inspections of petroleum product availability and distribution.
