Vipul Shah eyes bigger music play with IPO cash, eyes it as next growth engine Vipul Shah, the founder of Sunshine Pictures, is leveraging the proceeds from the company’s upcoming Rs 282-crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) to expand its music business, positioning it as a key growth engine for the firm. The IPO, which includes a fresh issue of 48 lakh equity shares valued at up to Rs 172.8 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 30.37 lakh shares worth Rs 109.3 crore by promoters Vipul Shah and Shefali Shah, is expected to unlock significant gains for the promoters. With the influx of capital, Shah aims to accelerate the company’s music initiatives, which had previously faced delays due to financial constraints. Sunshine Pictures initially planned to release around 100 songs since last August, but the company only managed to produce approximately 50 songs, with over 20 already released. Shah emphasized that the IPO funds will enable the company to scale its music operations, aiming to release around 100 songs annually and potentially exceed that target in the future. “With additional capital available, we can push the business much harder. The ambition remains to release around 100 songs a year and eventually go beyond that,” Shah stated in an interview with Moneycontrol. While the music segment is currently a minor contributor to Sunshine Pictures’ revenue, the company sees long-term potential in building intellectual property (IP)-led businesses. According to the company’s red herring prospectus (RHP), film production and distribution accounted for nearly 90 percent of FY26 revenue, while music rights, talent management, YouTube, Instagram, and related businesses contributed less than 9 percent, amounting to Rs 6.69 crore.#initial_public_offering #vipul_shah #sunshine_pictures #shefali_shah #music_rights
