Mumbai Crime News: A 14-year-old boy was killed by his classmates in Bhandup, sparking widespread alarm in the locality. The incident unfolded when Siddharth Lokhande, a student in the eighth grade, was allegedly assaulted by his peers after a dispute over perceived bullying. Following the attack, the perpetrators disposed of the body in a nearby lake to conceal their actions. The tragedy came to light when Siddharth’s family reported him missing after he failed to return home on February 22. His parents, unable to locate him despite their efforts, filed a missing persons complaint with the police. Initially, authorities suspected abduction, but the investigation took a grim turn when a dead body was discovered in a lake the following day. Firefighters recovered the remains, which were later subjected to an autopsy. The post-mortem report confirmed severe head injuries, leading to the conclusion that Siddharth had died as a result of the assault. The police investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a long-standing conflict between Siddharth and his classmates. According to the probe, the accused students had planned to teach him a lesson for his alleged bullying behavior. They took him to a lake, where they subjected him to violent attacks. The victim’s head sustained critical injuries, resulting in his death. To cover up their crime, the perpetrators dumped the body in the water, creating the illusion that he had drowned. Following the discovery of the body, the police launched a detailed inquiry. Three minors, aged between 14 and 15, were arrested in connection with the case. They confessed to their involvement, admitting that they had participated in the assault. The police seized the wooden stick used as a weapon during the attack and are conducting further investigations.#police #mumbai #bhandup #siddharth_lokhande #juvenile_detention_center
