Mild and Breezy Thursday, Snow and Rain on Friday A welcome stretch of mild weather is expected to continue through the day on Thursday, with plenty of sunshine and a gentle breeze making for a pleasant afternoon. Highs are expected to reach into the mid-50s, which is about 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. As we head into Friday, however, the weather pattern takes a dramatic turn. A low-pressure system moving out of the west will bring a chance of snow and rain to the region. The snowfall will be limited mostly to higher elevations, with amounts ranging from an inch or two in the foothills to possibly 3-5 inches in the mountains. Rain will be more widespread across the lower elevations, with totals ranging from a quarter-inch to half-an-inch possible. The rain could lead to some localized flooding issues, especially in areas with poor drainage. Meanwhile, the snow will make for tricky travel conditions on Friday morning, particularly on higher elevation roads and highways. Despite the change in weather, temperatures on Friday are expected to remain relatively mild, with highs only dipping into the mid-40s. The cold air aloft will keep things chilly, however, so it'll be a good idea to bundle up if you're planning on venturing outside. Looking ahead to the weekend, the weather pattern is expected to stabilize and dry out, making for a pleasant Saturday and Sunday with plenty of sunshine and seasonable temperatures.#mountains #snow #rain #weather #thursday #friday #foothills #lower_elevations #highways
