Peter Kingston Signs First-Team Contract with Seattle Sounders The Seattle Sounders officially announced on Friday that Peter Kingston has signed a first-team contract, marking a significant milestone in the 24-year-old’s career. Kingston, a former Sounders Academy standout, has earned the opportunity to compete regularly with the club after demonstrating consistency and impact during his time on short-term loans. The decision follows two standout performances that have solidified his place in the squad. Kingston’s journey to the first team has been marked by perseverance and adaptability. A key member of the 2018 Sounders Academy GA Cup champions, he initially made five appearances with Tacoma Defiance before pursuing higher education. After spending three years at Seattle University, he transferred to the University of Washington, where he played two more seasons. During this period, he also represented Ballard FC, where he tallied 10 goals and 22 assists in 50 appearances. His contributions helped Ballard FC secure a USL League 2 national title in 2023. Despite his collegiate success, Kingston was not selected in the MLS SuperDraft. However, he joined Tacoma Defiance in 2025, where he quickly made an impression. Over the course of the season, he recorded three goals and six assists across all competitions while playing multiple positions. His versatility and work ethic earned him recognition within the Sounders organization, leading to his call-up to the first team. The breakthrough came in late 2025 when Kingston was loaned to the Sounders. In his first appearance, he started a 1-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes, playing 85 minutes. His impact was even more pronounced in a Concacaf Champions Cup match against the Vancouver Whitecaps, where he provided two assists from the bench.#seattle_sounders #peter_kingston #tacoma_defiance #ballard_fc #sounders_academy
