MS Dhoni had this advice for CSK's Rs 14.2 crore recruit Prashant Veer: No cricket talk Chennai Super Kings (CSK) signed uncapped players Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer for Rs 14.2 crore each at the IPL Auction 2026. Prashant Veer, a 20-year-old all-rounder, shared that his first piece of advice from MS Dhoni focused on financial management rather than cricket strategies. "Right now, we haven’t spoken much about cricket. He told me to save my money and not spend it unnecessarily," Veer said, as reported by Sportstar. Veer emphasized that his initial days with the team involved adapting to the environment and learning from teammates. "The environment is very good, and everyone is very supportive. It feels good to mingle with them and play together. It’s a great feeling for me, my family, and my village (Sahajipur, UP)," he added. He noted the intensity and structure of IPL training differ from his previous experiences. "It’s my first IPL, so I have never had practice sessions like this before. The environment and the intensity here are different, so it takes a little time to get used to it," he explained. Veer also addressed comparisons with Ravindra Jadeja, stating he is focused on his own performance rather than trying to replace the established player. "First of all, I have to do what I know — what I have practised and what brought me here. If I think I have to take his place, there will be a lot of pressure because what he has done for the franchise or the Indian team is not easy to do. Right now, I’m just focusing on my game," he said. Kartik Sharma, also signed for Rs 14.2 crore, highlighted his goal to learn from Dhoni’s expertise in finishing games and tactical planning. "I want to learn how to finish games and good game planning," Sharma said, per Sportstar.#chennai_super_kings #ms_dhoni #prashant_veer #sportstar #ipl_auction_2026
