Imran Khan unbowed, sons share powerful message Legendary all-rounder and former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has remained resolute despite spending nearly three years in prison. His sons, Sulaiman Isa and Kasim, revealed in a conversation with former England captain Mike Atherton that their father has not wavered in his stance, even as he faces harsh conditions in custody. Khan, along with his wife Bushra Bibi, is serving prison terms in corruption cases tied to a property trust and allegations of acquiring luxury gifts. In December 2024, both were given extended sentences in another case, prolonging their incarceration. Bibi has been held at Adiala Jail since January, while Khan was arrested in August 2023 after being ousted from office via a parliamentary motion. Concerns about his health have arisen, with Khan recently undergoing treatment for vision loss in his right eye. His legal team reported that he has lost nearly 85% of his vision in that eye. Despite these challenges, Khan’s sons emphasized his determination. During a call last weekend, which lasted about 28 minutes, they described his mental and physical resilience. Khan dismissed questions about his health, stating, “I’m doing OK,” and expressed hope that his eyesight is improving. He also voiced concern for his wife’s condition, noting that her health is deteriorating at a similar rate. Khan’s sons described the authorities’ tactics as attempts to erode his resolve. They claimed that the prison environment is designed to isolate him, with measures like power outages and restricted access to books. “They try to silently remove small liberties, like not allowing new books or turning off the power in the cell,” Kasim said. Khan, however, has adapted to these conditions by practicing meditation, which he said has helped him maintain his mental strength.#imran_khan #sulaiman_isa #kasim #bushra_bibi #adiala_jail
