Surya Kiran Team Members Meet Punjab Governor Ahead of Air Show Members of the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team visited Punjab Governor and Union Territory Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria at the Punjab Lok Bhavan in Chandigarh on Thursday. The meeting occurred ahead of the team’s upcoming air display at Sukhna Lake, scheduled for March 27 and 28. During the visit, the team shared details about their planned performance and expressed excitement about engaging with local residents during the event. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, known for its precision flying and dramatic aerial maneuvers, will showcase its skills using brightly painted red and white Hawk trainer jets. The display will include complex formations, dives, loops, barrel rolls, and inverted flights, captivating audiences both domestically and internationally. This marks the team’s second appearance in Chandigarh within six months. Their previous visit in September 2025 coincided with the conclusion of the MiG-21 operational flying program, while earlier performances in 2022 and prior years had drawn large crowds during Air Force Day celebrations. To ensure the safety and smooth execution of the event, Sukhna Lake will be closed to the public until the afternoon of March 28. Security arrangements include the deployment of approximately 1,300 Chandigarh Police personnel, supported by National Disaster Response Force teams, fire services, and civil defense volunteers. Visitors must arrive at the venue via designated CTU buses, which will transport attendees from specific city locations. Private vehicles are prohibited near the lake. Attendees with valid tickets will receive wristbands granting access to designated viewing areas.#sukhna_lake #surya_kiran_aerobatic_team #gulab_chand_kataria #punjab_lok_bhavan #chandigarh_police
