Ghaziabad on Edge as Class 11 Student Stabbed to Death on Bakra Eid, 3 Juveniles Held A 17-year-old Class 11 student, Surya Pratap, died after being stabbed by neighbors in Ghaziabad’s Khoda Colony on Bakra Eid, sparking widespread outrage and protests. The incident, which occurred on May 28, has left the community in turmoil, with conflicting accounts from authorities and the victim’s family. According to Surya’s family, the attack was triggered by an argument over religious rituals. The victim’s brother, Yash, alleged that the accused, along with two friends, approached Surya under the pretense of showing a goat sacrifice during Eid. When Surya denied having seen such an event, the suspects allegedly abused him and attacked him with a knife. Yash claimed the group dragged Surya to a secluded area, where he was stabbed multiple times in the stomach. Surya was taken to Fortis Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on May 29. Police, however, stated the altercation began over a dispute involving a motorbike. DCP Dhawal Jaiswal confirmed that the deceased and the accused were friends who had previously reconciled after a scuffle eight months prior. The police version suggests the argument escalated into a violent confrontation, with the accused retaliating with a knife attack. The DCP emphasized that the incident was not premeditated and that CCTV footage supports the official narrative. Three juveniles have been arrested in connection with the case, though their exact roles remain under investigation. The family, however, has demanded severe punishment, including an “encounter” against the accused and the demolition of their homes. Locals, BJP leaders, and Hindu activists joined protests in Khoda Colony, demanding justice and accountability.#ghaziabad #yash #surya_pratap #dcp_dhawal_jaiswal #khoda_colony
