Green said the incidents followed months of block parties, loud music, and gunfire that disrupted daily life and left the area in disarray. The events unfolded on the 4200 block of Wiman Drive in east Fort Worth, where Green reported a hail of gunfire on her front lawn after a block party was underway. Green recounted that she had been attempting to clean up the neighborhood for weeks, contacting police multiple times to address noise complaints and reports of gunfire. She said the block parties, often advertised on social media, drew crowds of hundreds and left streets littered with trash, beer cans, and used sanitary products. Loud music and random gunfire made it nearly impossible to sleep, prompting her to call authorities at least four or five times before Saturday. The police shooting on Saturday began around midnight when officers responded to reports of gunfire. According to Police Chief Eddie Garcia, officers confronted an armed man who pointed his gun at them, leading to the man’s death. Green, who had just woken up after hearing a loud boom inside her home, discovered her microwave had been struck by a stray bullet. She said the microwave stopped the bullet from entering her home, potentially saving her from injury. Green expressed frustration with the ongoing chaos, noting that similar incidents had occurred before.
