TCU Women's Basketball Dominates UCSD with Triple-Double Performance The TCU Horned Frogs secured a decisive 86-40 victory over UC San Diego in a first-round matchup of the Sacramento 4 regional tournament. Guard Olivia Miles delivered her sixth triple-double of the season, tallying 12 points, 16 rebounds, and 14 assists, while Taylor Bigby set a career high with 27 points. The win propelled TCU, ranked third in the nation, to the second round, where they will face sixth-ranked Washington. Miles joined an elite group of Division I women’s players with multiple triple-doubles in NCAA tournament history, alongside Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon and Nicole Powell of Stanford. Clara Silva and Marta Suarez added double-doubles for TCU, combining for 24 points and 21 rebounds. The Frogs outscored UC San Diego 49-22 in the paint and shot 49.2% from the field, including a 50% accuracy rate from beyond the arc. UC San Diego, ranked 14th, struggled offensively, shooting just 22.7% from the field (15 of 66) and failing to reach double digits in scoring beyond Erin Condron’s 12 points. The Tritons never led in the game and finished with 15 points in the second half. In a separate first-round matchup, sixth-ranked Washington defeated 27th-ranked South Dakota 72-62. Avery Howell led the Huskies with 30 points and nine rebounds, including seven three-pointers, while Brynn McGaughy added 14 points. Sayvia Sellers contributed 10 assists and three steals, as Washington dominated the boards 40-25 and forced 18 turnovers, converting 16 points from turnovers. South Dakota’s Brooklyn Meyer scored 29 points on 13-of-20 shooting but struggled with turnovers, finishing with three more than the rest of her teammates combined.
