2027 Census; House Listing to Start on May 1 Indore: The door-to-door enumeration process for the 2027 Census will commence on May 1 in the district. Following the launch of the self-enumeration facility on April 15, approximately 7,500 residents have already submitted their details online, with the self-registration portal remaining open until April 30. The house listing phase will continue until May 30, during which enumerators will cover all identified constructions. The district has been divided into 5,931 blocks, comprising 3,861 urban and 2,070 rural areas. Around 6,000 trained enumerators have been deployed to ensure comprehensive coverage of the estimated 10 lakh constructions. To streamline operations, the district has been organized into 42 administrative sectors, including 22 urban zones, 10 tehsils, eight municipal councils, and the Mhow Cantonment Board. Residents who have completed self-enumeration are required to provide their ID numbers to visiting officials for verification. This census marks a shift to a fully digital model under the "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) framework, where enumerators will use personal smartphones to record data. The administration has set technical specifications for these devices, requiring Android version 12 or iOS 15 and above, with at least 8 GB of free storage. The mobile application is designed to function offline, with data automatically syncing to the central server once an internet connection is available. To ensure adherence to the timeline, all involved officials have been restricted from taking leave. Given the projected heatwave in May, enumerators have been advised to conduct field visits during early morning and evening hours to mitigate health risks.#indore #mhow_cantonment_board #municipal_councils #tehsils #urban_zones
