After speaking with the Dean at the Scholastone Institute, the player is tasked with assisting Octavius' experiment by solving the puzzle. The first step involves locating the lock device switch, which is hidden underground. Players should walk south from the entrance, descend to the lower ledge, and proceed upstairs into a large chamber. Around a corner in this chamber, a square set of buttons will be visible. The puzzle requires pressing the buttons in a precise order. Once the correct sequence is completed, the player must pull the lever positioned behind the puzzle. Returning to Octavius outside, the next step is to activate the device by inserting floating electric cubes—referred to as batteries—into the square sockets. Each battery is already positioned near a pillar, making the placement straightforward. To move the batteries into place, players should use the Axiom Force ability. Once positioned correctly, the Force Palm ability is used to push the batteries into the sockets. After this, Octavius activates an unstable core, prompting the player to use Axiom Force on the core and pull it until it explodes. This action completes the puzzle. Following the explosion, a Tenebrum boss battle immediately begins.
