The latest raids, carried out on Sunday, targeted multiple hospitality establishments, resulting in the seizure and disposal of 132 kilograms of unsuitable food items and 15 liters of used cooking oil. These actions followed earlier inspections that had already exposed serious hygiene and storage issues in several high-end hotels. The recent inspections focused on restaurants and pubs, where officials identified food products deemed unfit for consumption. At Hotel Sky in UB City, a major pub, authorities found 45 kilograms of spoiled chicken and beef, 6 kilograms of vegetable cutlets, and 15 liters of used cooking oil. The total weight of unfit food items at this location amounted to 51 kilograms, which were subsequently discarded in accordance with established procedures. Other establishments also faced scrutiny. At the Royal Chain Hotel, officials seized 50 kilograms of duck and 5 kilograms of fish. Madras Kitchen had 5 kilograms of green peas confiscated, while Tescon Hotel saw 5 kilograms of mushrooms removed. Sanchez Hotel, another prominent pub, had 3 kilograms of fish seized, alongside 7 kilograms of cake, potatoes, and tacos that were deemed unfit for consumption and discarded. The total quantity of food items seized during the latest inspections reached 132 kilograms, with an additional 15 liters of used cooking oil disposed of.
