Forest teams have increased patrols in Kawthal and deployed cage and trap cameras to track the tigress. SW Ghoramade, a forest ranger in Teosa Circle, confirmed that pugmarks found in Kawthal indicate the animal is a tigress, noting the elongated paw prints. The department has also intensified efforts to capture the animal, emphasizing the need for immediate action to prevent further incidents. The tigress’s movement has fueled rumors on social media, with unverified reports circulating about its sightings. On Saturday night, a forest team was dispatched to Juni Bharwadi after a sighting was reported. The following day, a message claiming a tigress with three cubs was spotted in Varkhed was shared in a WhatsApp group by an official, sparking widespread forwarding. However, the Forest Department has urged citizens to avoid spreading unverified information, warning that such rumors divert resources from tracking the animal.
