Complaint: PNC Bank Robber Tracked Down After Using 'Turo' Rental Car Prosecutors revealed that 33-year-old Ryan Ashford targeted a PNC Bank in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, believing suburban police would respond more slowly to a robbery. Ashford, who was arrested three days after the incident, confessed to planning the crime and admitted to writing detailed notes and escape strategies found in his basement. The robbery occurred on August 15, 2026, at the bank located at 2360 N. 124th Street. According to the criminal complaint, Ashford entered the bank wearing black tactical-style clothing, a mask, and red gloves. He announced, “I’m robbing the place,” to a bank employee, who later provided the account of the event. The suspect ordered customers and employees to the ground before directing them to stand against a wall. He then approached a teller, handed her a note written in blue ink, and demanded large-denomination bills. The note specified a target of up to $400,000 in $100 and $50 bills, instructing the teller to make repeated withdrawals and create a general-ledger transaction if necessary. As the teller began stacking smaller bills, Ashford grew frustrated. He walked behind the counter and demanded, “Give me everything you have,” according to the complaint. He stuffed the available cash into a black duffel bag and fled with $1,106. Ashford later told police he was tired of not earning enough money and did not intend for anyone to be harmed. He admitted to carrying a Taser into the bank and acknowledged writing the robbery notes and plans discovered in his basement. Ashford was staying with a friend when he was arrested near 69th Street and Villard Avenue.
